LIFE AFTER ONE JAGUAR'S BRUSH WITH THE LAW
A family heirloom for nearly five decades, this 1966 Jaguar E-Type traded hands on Collecting Cars as one of the first consignments sold in the US.
Purchased by the previous owner’s father in 1972 from a DEA agent, the car had been seized as part of a drug bust and sold via a police auction. This Series 1 2+2 has a dash of '60s villain character then, and its Opalescent Silver Grey paintwork is believed to be almost all original, gently patinated over time.
Used for five years by the seller's father, it was then laid up in a garage in 1977 and left untouched until 2016 when he passed away. His son then decided to bring the car back to life with an extensive mechanical recommissioning.
